From conflict to coexistence
Protecting lives, livelihoods, and wildlife from human–wildlife conflict in the Upper Mara ecosystem.
About Us
Building bridges between communities and wildlife
Wildlife Coexistence Trust (WCT) is a community-led nonprofit organization working in the Upper Mara ecosystem to reduce human–wildlife conflict, with a primary focus on communities living along the Amalo, Nyangores, and Mara rivers, where human, hippo and crocodile conflict is most severe. Based in the heart of the conflict zone, we work with the communities, county government of Bomet and Narok, and other mission-aligned organizations to implement  interventions that save lives, secure livelihoods, and protect wildlife. While we prioritize hippo and crocodile conflict, we respond to all human–wildlife incidents and promote coexistence across the Upper Mara ecosystem.
